The Executive Board of the Industrial Engineering Student Association is again holding the Competition of Industrial Engineering 2024 (CONSTRAIN). The CONSTRAIN 2024 activity was held initially with the opening and inauguration on Friday 16 February 2024 until the awarding night activity which was held on Sunday 18 February 2024.
This event was opened directly by the Student Affairs Manager of the Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University Hamzah, S.T., M.T. who also represented the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering who had not been able to attend. Apart from that, this event was also attended by the Head of the Industrial Engineering Department, Ir. Kifayah Amar, S.T., M.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU. along with staff and lecturers of the Industrial Engineering Department.
CONSTRAIN 2024 is a work program from the Research and Technology division of BEM HMTI FTUH. Constrain is present as a forum to improve students’ analytical skills in finding solutions to problems faced by a business or company. This year’s Constraint has the theme Renewable Energy for Green Manufacturing Towards Sustainable Industry which focuses on how to encourage students’ critical thinking and social sensitivity towards energy and environmental issues in the industrial sector.
In her report, Sarifah Ariahiyya, as chair of the committee at this event, stated that the reason for raising the theme Renewable Energy for Green Manufacturing Towards Sustainable Industry was that as an industrial engineer, she was concerned about the energy resources used in today’s industries and how these energy sources had a bad impact on the environment, so It is considered necessary to have renewable energy that can reduce negative environmental impacts and can support a sustainable industry in the future.
Chairman of the Industrial Engineering Department, Ir Kifayah, on this occasion expressed his thanks to all parties who attended and made this event a success, and also congratulated the committee who had successfully organized this event. Ir Kifayah also congratulated the top 6 participants who made it to the final round and hoped that the energy renewal and environmental impact reduction movement which was the theme of this event could be realized not only for this event but beyond.
The Student Affairs Manager also expressed his appreciation to the committee and participants in this event, and hopes that national competitions like this can continue to be held in the future, not only as committee members but also as participants.
