Industrial Systems Design and Management

1. Background

The Industrial Systems Design and Management Laboratory is an academic and research facility within the field of Industrial Engineering that focuses on the design, analysis, improvement, and management of complex industrial systems. The laboratory serves as a center for learning, experimentation, and research development in areas related to production systems, operations management, systems optimization, decision-making, logistics, supply chain management, human factors, and technology-based industrial transformation.

This laboratory is established to support the development of students’ analytical, managerial, and technical competencies in addressing real-world industrial challenges. Through integrated academic activities, practical sessions, simulation-based learning, and research collaboration, the laboratory provides an environment where undergraduate and master’s students can apply Industrial Engineering concepts to solve problems in manufacturing, services, logistics, and other industrial sectors.

In line with international standards of higher education, the Industrial Systems Design and Management Laboratory promotes interdisciplinary research, evidence-based decision-making, and innovation-oriented learning. The laboratory is also designed to strengthen collaboration among students, lecturers, researchers, and industry partners in developing sustainable, efficient, and competitive industrial systems.

Based on the IISE body of knowledge chart, the industrial systems design and management laboratory consists of:
– Engineering economic analysis (3)
– Operations engineering and management (7)
– Engineering management (9)
