On September 19, 2024, the socialization activity of the preparation of the halal manual for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Gowa Regency was successfully carried out. This activity was led by Dr. Ir. Syarifuddin M. Parenreng, S.T., M.T., IPU, and attended by more than 100 MSME actors, academics, and representatives from the local government.
The event was opened with remarks from Dr. Syarifuddin, who emphasized the importance of halal certification to increase the competitiveness of MSME products. The resource person from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) then explained the process of compiling the halal manual and the criteria that must be met.
The question and answer session was active, giving participants the opportunity to discuss the challenges in implementing halal standards. The activity was closed with the symbolic handover of the halal manual guidebook to MSME representatives.
It is hoped that this socialization can encourage UMKM actors in Gowa Regency to better understand and implement halal principles, so that their products are ready to compete in a wider market. Let’s support local UMKM towards success with quality products!
