On Wednesday, February 16, 2022, the Department of Industrial Engineering, Hasanuddin University held a Guest Lecture with the theme “Production Planning and Control in the Shipbuilding Industry”. This theme was raised as the topic of the discussion.
At the Guest Lecture, the speakers were Mrs. Ir. Diana Rosa, ST., IPU., CWM who is the director of PT. IKI (Persero). The Guest Lecture was attended by Lecturers, Industrial Engineering Students at Hasanuddin University and several other departments, such as the Department of Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding Engineering, Department of Marine Engineering, and others.
In the Guest Lecture, the moderator was Mr. Dr. Ir. Sapta Asmal, ST., MT. who is the Chair of the Industrial Engineering Masters Study Program and an expert in the field of production planning and control (PPC). “With this Guest Lecture, we can exchange knowledge and experiences with Mrs. Diana Rosa as Director of PT. IKI provides an overview to both undergraduate and postgraduate students in Industrial Engineering, Hasanuddin University, how to plan and control a ship’s production at PT. IKI,” said Dr. Ir. Sapta Asmal, ST., MT.
As the opening of the series of events, Mrs. Diana Rosa asked why she could become a director. Some of the participants answered because they had long experience at PT. IKI and various kinds presented by the participants of the Guest Lecture. But the right answer was said by Mrs. Diana Rosa, “Because I am a graduate of Industrial Engineering”. Mrs. Diana Rosa said that Industrial Engineering has various job prospects, because Industrial Engineering can design, create, and control a company or project to be worked on.
